I picked up a 08' Urban Runner with the TomTom
It didn't have the cable or CD.
Does anyone have the software that came with the UR?

Ken:
Most any Tom-tom cable will work. Follow the link in the second post for instructions from TomTom.
Mine (09TE) did not come with a CD. Neither TomTom nor Eclipse current support the hardware/accessories for this unit.
As an aside, I don't use mine at all, preferring to have a dash mount Garmin. The TomTom is too small and too far away from my line of sight to use comfortably.

Contrary to most, I love the TomTom unit. I should have the CD somewhere, but mine was updated with a new chip and new software at the dealer for no cost last year as some of these units had issues with them. Mine didn't, but dealer installed teh upgrades anyways. Your Car is probably still under warranty. I'd call and ask the dealer. Where are you located?

I got mine in August '09 and it came with a box full of all the cds/accessories. The cd has software to update the nav unit and to add places of interest, which could be useful. If you would like a copy, let me know.

I also have not had any issues with my TomTom unit, although the iPod and USB screens are kind of annoying to go through. Audiqtr, did you notice any difference in operation after the update to the chip/software?

Yeap, addresses loaded quicker, and gas stations (by company) started showing on the map. I am still yet to test it on a trail handheld since the update.

I have all my equipment and the whole tom tom unit if you want it.... where ya from? The first thing i did when I purchased my Urban running was get that Tom tom unit outta there!!! Looks tacky and didn't work very well IMO

What did you replace it with?

It didn't have the cable.

The cable most likely got reused to install a different HU. The UR's have a different wireing harness than any other T4R. I re-used my cable to splice the new HU cables into.

I upgraded to a Pioneer AVIC Z120BT. Way better looking and sounding.

The TomTom doesn't have the greatest sound quality and the BT volume is not changable(low) and only comes out of one speaker. Can't hear people when driving.

I STRONGLY suggest you don't install the DumDum, even though the nav system is pretty decent, the rest of the unit SUCKS!!!

Thanks for the suggested replacement. I totally agree about the sound and user (lack of) friendliness of the receiver.
