The center hub to fender measurements, before the lift, look right for stock. Don't bother measuring the ground to fender as there are too many variables (tire size, wear, inflation, etc.). From what I recall from doing my lift, the max front lift was 3" unless you were to replace a bunch of parts and rebuild the front end - over 3" will cause damage. I'm at 3" (~22" to 22.5") with a Toytec diff drop and my CVs have very little angle. It will settle with a little driving but I don't think I would drive with that much angle - maybe around the block at most. Even if you fix the CV angle with the diff drop, I think your steering links are a problem and as someone else mentioned, probably won't be able to align. You are probably at least 3" too much lift in the front. I had a similar issue with my lift and I realized the adjustment was opposite what I thought - I was trying to reduce the lift, and I actually increased it. I realized my issue and reversed what I did and got to where I needed to be.

I am measuring ground to fender as the only variable I am changing currently is the suspension.

Unfortunately my Billstein 5100s are on the lowest setting so I don't know how else I can reduce the lift other than getting 885 coils.

I have driven a total of 30 miles with the bumper on and it seems that it has only lowered the car less than half an inch.

Your whole suspension seems way stressed. Like the LCA looks like it’s at a crazy angle and the tie rods too. Here’s mine for reference with a Toytec 3” coilover lift. IMG_1827.jpg

I do have the 1” differential drop installed but I doubt if I removed it it would be as severe as yours. Might be worth taking it apart and making sure everything is put together correctly. I would start by removing the .5” spacers as they are actually netting you about 1” of lift. I don’t remember the science but it’s about double what you put in. So .5” spacer equals about 1” actual lift.

Let us know if you figure it out.

Top hat spacer was removed passenger side but I didn't have time to take off the driver side.

Yesterday I added 118lbs into the bumper itself. Today I sat (155lbs) on the bumper (110lbs) WITH the added weight in the bumper itslef (128lbs) and the front end ground to fender height only dropped 3/4 of an inch. That is a whole 393lbs static weight up front compared to when I had no weight hanging up front and it barley made a dent. Again, the suspension was installed correctly on the lowest clip setting and the spring is not upside-down.

No weight in bumper, control pic (bad angle but it was 90 degrees outside)

I realise that doing this on the side of the road with a road crown isn't the best method but I don't have access to a level surface. I can say that I don't plan on adding 283 more pounds of static weight up front to even get the 3/4 of an inch lower in the first place.

Maybe it's just me but would the OME coil fitments notes saying.....

"OME front coils can only be installed with OME Nitrocharger Strut and coil seats"

...be causing the extreme lift you have because you install the OME springs with Blistein struts and not OME Nitrochargers struts and coil seats???

I run 5100s with OME 886's just like the OP, and like many others out there and they work perfectly and gave me roughly the 2.5in they promised. Plus there's many sellers out there that recommend this combo so I'm sure this is just OME trying to get more of there struts to sell.

During my research I’ve found many other 4th gen owners running Blistein 5100s and OME springs. Tacoma owners use 5100s and OME springs as well.

I purchased this as a kit from a company that was recommended by this site. The literature on the internet says the springs should be paired with Nitrochargers due to the valving of the Bilsteins not being optimized for OME springs. There are others on the internet that also say they don’t like the ride quality of the Nitrochargers paired with the OME springs.

Fair enough, I also thought I had a read of others doing OME springs and Blisteins but I have never seen the fitment note before so I thought I would ask.

K-D-Runner since this is your first reply in this topic and you're running the same setup but only have 2.5" of lift do you have any input as to why royal T4R is seeing so much lift from the same setup, do you see any difference in the way his are installed compared to your's?

What this man said!

How much weight do you have up front? Any pics of your CVs?

I appreciate the input from everyone btw.

Took off passenger side tophat spacer and a lot of the binding has gone away. Tacked up the coastal off-road front bumper but the boots still touch.

How's the ride... The whole suspension looks stressed as hell like something is gonna pop.

Looks like you are gonna need to recheck if everything was installed properly (coil position or what not), either that or you got the wrong parts.

I'm actually debating either going full coilover or just swapping my 884 coils for 886 when I throw a bumper and winch on.

Just for reference: 884 coils on 5100s second notch. Don't mind the cleanliness :playball:

Super bouncy with even just the plate bumper up front.

I am new to installing lifts but not new to wrenching. I can guarantee that everything is 100% the way it is supposed to be put together. I had a shop install the spring onto the driver side strut, and i did the no spring compressor method on the passenger front. Both sides are on the lowest clip setting. All bolts torqued to spec.

Also I wish to have those CV angles you have there. Are you a V6 or V8?

V6, I hope you get that sorted out soon.

Im not sure, ill go check this out right now.

Part numbers shouldn't vary for each model; Tacos, Fjs, Gxs and 4runners are pretty much the same.

2883-2887

Hi. Did you ever fix this? I just lifted with some ome 885 on a v6 and it sits pretty high. Haven't drove yet.
It should only be 3inch lift but looks higher for sure.
