Too Many Wiring Terminals on Battery Bad?

Before I can shell out the money for SPOD or Switch Pros, is it bad to hook up too many wire terminals to the battery? I have 27F Northstar AGM battery and there are two lightbars, anytime front/rear camera and a winch hooked up to the battery terminals. I'll soon be adding a fridge powered directly to the battery. Is this too much?

Look into a Bussman Relay/fuse panel. Run one cable from the battery to the bussman. They come prewired just look on Ebay.Or search on the forum.

I'm surprised you even have any threads left on the battery with all that connected.

I'd go with the Bussman as well for a cheaper alternative.

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with wiring multiple things directly to the battery, the reason it can become an issue is if you start forgetting which wire is for what and that's why having a fuse block has value. If all of your wires are terminated cleanly and have solid connections it's fine, it just may be a lot harder to troubleshoot or remember how you wired something in the future.

It’s not a matter of if it’s bad or not… its more about trying to have a tidy distribution setup and a good sturdy connection for anything attached to the battery.

It’s far easier to connect a distribution panel like a Bussman or BlueSea block and have all the accessories connected to that. It will be cleaner and easier to maintain. It also simplifies circuit protection (fusing) and makes it easier to adding and removing circuits.

If you are going to spend the coin on a SPOD or SwitchPro, I would do it all at once. That would be an ideal opportunity to clean everything up.

You probably have this covered, but you may want to revisit your anytime back/front camera setup to see if the front camera is powered on constantly. If so, maybe you can delete one battery connection. Some generic camera installation instructions direct you to connect to the battery or ignition-on +12V. You really only want the camera powered on when you select it via the Front-Off-Back switch; that’s where you should connect to get the camera power.

I'm slowly researching the same issue, not that i want to add all the landing and Christmas tree lights that seem to be all the rage and will not require plug and play systems like the spod and such.

Looks solid... that is the exact Bussmann RTMR I think many of us were thinking about in this thread.

It's really not that hard to populate the wiring and crimp all this stuff yourself, but it's can be time consuming. That package really isn't that bad for the price.
