Too much suspension travel

Happily bombing down a desert road I came upon a number of fairly large whoops in the road that I could not get slowed down as much as I would have liked to.
Slammed the front hard a couple times but the Wheelers super bumps really took the edge off of the impacts.
Seemed like all was fine.

That was 2 weeks ago. I was in the garage just looking over the runner, as I do on occasion, looking for any issues.
I notice this odd rub mark on the top leading edge of my SPC upper control arm.
Then notice the dent in the wheel well...Whoops!

I guess the superbumps compress way more than I though they would.

Looks like I need to add a spacer under the bumpstop...or pound the wheel well out with a hammer and dolly.

theres never a such thing as too much wheel travel, id just persuade the fender with a hammer or small sledge, cant have that getting in the way again. but how do you like those wheelers bumpstops? i need to get a slightly longer front bumpstop to keep my 35s from destroying my entire outer fender.

Unless you plan to hit more bumps like that at speed, whats the issue with leaving it? Adding a spacer will just limit the slow speed travel. My vote goes towards hammering the wheel well if anything.

I'm surprised you have that much up travel, your setup didn't seem like it would.

i dont have as much of a lifted truck but i do have super bumps on my truck and i like them so far. with not being as tall they do more for me on daily use then a truck with more lift. im only 2-2.5 inches of lift up front. the superbumps have made a big difference with how my truck handles things like uneven tracks at speed. install was simple but removing the stock ones was a pain.

superbumps arent solid like other bumpstops. So they squish down 1/4" more than stock. I spaced mine a bit upon install. They work great. Always cycle your suspension though to check. Always.

Looks like it would be hard to swing a hammer in the space available.

I like the superbumps really takes the harshness out of the impact.
Mine are at 1/4" space from the LCA so I don't think I should lower them any.

Looking at it closer was starting me to wonder if there is not something broken or maybe control arm bushing are shot. The 'slippy' dash light has been coming on way more than normal recently too, maybe related?

I need to give it a good bath so I can see what the heck happened.

...that Shrokworks is heavy.

oh i knew they compressed a good amount more than stock ones, i was planning to put in the 3/8" spacer to help with that issue.
