Took the plunge - traded up to a '15 Trail Edition!

Absolutely loving it....was trying to hold out for the Premium (really wanted the moonroof and was actually impressed by the softex seats...but I have wanted this blue color in forever and even had to drive out of state to get it). Got a good deal with premium nav/audio and KDSS.

Traded in my '08 Sport Edition...didn't expect the step up to be so dramatic but it's light years ahead.

Why is it so hard to find Nautical Blue here? I found 4 Limited in Northern CA when I was looking but only 1 was close to the right configuration. I almost had to go farther north to get what I wanted.

Not sure. In SoCal there are a handful of blue SR5s but that's it.

Nice upgrade! I am loving my 2015 trail. I found a blue trail when I was looking and had to really think hard about it but for some reason I kept going back to the silver since it was my first choice when I started looking.

Yeah I like the silver too, I just wanted to get a different color since I felt like getting silver again wouldn't give me a new car "feel."

The blue looks amazing in person.

historically blue in 4runner is the lowest volume and competes with red.

if you add in TE the numbers cut in 1/2.

forget about the unicorn TEp in blue.

I didn't realize they were that rare, we have one sitting in the driveway. Was the 1st 2015 that the dealer had gotten in back in October when we picked it up.

typically the colors go like this across all models for 2014+

silver
white
black
grey
red
blue


if you don't want me to ruin the colors for you don't read anymore of this post.

once you are told this, this will get really annoying. if you are driving along 1 of every 2 or 3 cars will be silver, white, black that you pass or notice.

some of you might remember me posting inventory back in Dec-2013 into Jan-2014

back then during the ramp up on production the rare colors inventory across the usa was in the single digits up until about feb-march of 2014.

the heavy colors were silver/white/black in that order. as you can see the top 3 colors tend to swap positions during the year with grey swapping 4th spot with the 3rd spot color at times.

but overall blue has historically always been last with red not to far behind.

this excludes the Pro models since you can only get 3 colors.
