If you're going to use a tool bag (instead of a tool roll), I'd highly recommend packing a few spare rags. Use the rags to strategically wrap around the tools and take up dead space in the bag. Not only will this cut down on the noise of rattling tools, more importantly it'll stop hardened steel implements from rubbing and vibrating up against each other over tens of thousands of miles. You'd be surprised how badly tools can get scratched and chewed up just from knocking around in a bag.

Most of the main tools in the bag are broken up into 2 tool rolls. One for ratchets, pliers, most used misc, while the other holds all the wrenches. Then a small towel to take up the rest of the space so it all fits nicely.

It depends what mods you have done to your vehicle.

For example, if you replaced your UCA, carry the stock ones with you.

A basic metric toolset will cover almost everything. I carry both a 3/8 and 1/2 set w/ short and deep sockets from 8mm-22mm, along with wrenches, a breaker bar, and torque wrench.

I have been keeping track of the tools I use on my mods and have been doing my own work and maintenance on the vehicle since getting it. Everytime I do a job I put those tooks aside and combine them when I can.

I use currently use a Blue Ridge Overland tool roll and love the quality. I'm going to pick up a bag and small assortment bags at Expo West.

Nice to hear! I’ve the same experience. I have a few of their other bags too. I really like waxed canvas so it’s kind of a shoe in for me. The tool roll, I have about ~35 lbs of tools in it, use it all the time and man it’s well built. I wish I had kids to leave it too because there’s no way I am going to wear it out, if I did they’d fix it
