The threat of high gas prices from now until Kingdom Come sent me in search of "how to save at the pump" today. I've compiled the following Top 25 Ways to Save at the Pump from the top 10 search results on Google. Hope this is helpful to you (I know it's been helpful for me):

1 Find the places near you that offer the cheapest gas and shop there first. (Resources: Cheap Gas, Gas Buddy, Gas Price Watch)

2 Check your tire pressure. Under-inflated tires require more energy to roll. The placard on the inside drivers door is where you'll find the correct tire pressure (usually about 28 PSI). Consider replacing worn tires with Low Rolling Resistance (LRR) tires.

3 Fill up on weekdays

#9: You will also do your fuel pump a favor by keeping the tank at least 1/2 full. The fuel cools the fuel pump. When the fuel is low in the tank the pump works harder and the outside temperature is over 100* in many locations of the country now.

#4: Gasoline is coldest and most dense before sunrise since it has been chilling all night. Thus, you should fill up first thing in the morning.

You say not to run on empty but riding around with 10-15 gallons of gas is alot of deadweight if you ask me, thus, violating rule #19. So I wonder if riding on empty would actually be better? I always ride on empty but I actually filled my tank full tonight because I got the gas for only $1.80 a gallon!!
