I'm in the middle of installing yhr fromt half of my lift. Everything was going well but when I got to the top 3 nuts they were seized pretty good. I hit them with PB blaster and they started moving but one of them is free spinnging the bolt in the mount. I am about to try some heat but I think I'm screwed. Might have to buy an aftermarket tophat assembly. Any help is much appreciated

Well I ended up cutting them off and had to order a new tophat set. I'd rather do the rear 3 times before dealing with these damn top hat nuts.

They can definitely be a big PIA but I had more trouble getting the nuts off my rear shocks on my rust free '98. Had to cut them off. Glad you were able to at get them cut off.

I had to go to home depot and get some dremel 458 carbide blades for the multi max. I've owned that tool for years and have only used it twice. Glad I had it today.

You’re crazy.. I just finished the rear half of my lift today and F**K those rear shock upper nuts!!

A: The rear upper shock mount nuts are way worse to get off, I hate them.
B: Living in Maine I always go to the heat first if a fastener even hints that it is frozen or will break. My new tech from Colorado is just figuring out why I use the acetylene torch so much. Drilling out broken bolts sucks!

Just replaced my rear shocks and springs. The passenger side was seized up but fortunately broke after about an hour of fighting it. That set had only been in for a couple of years.
