Torn inner boots

What's the thinking for torn inner boots. Still some grease coming out. 2007 v8 4wd

Replace the shafts? How bad a job?

Local shop? Dealer? A CV Pro sort of shop?

You can still reboot them if there's no debris in the shafts.

In one of the later posts I put the notes I've collected in preparation for the job, including a bunch of links to useful threads.

My take is that it looks like an annoying/messy job, but I'd rather keep the original axle if it's still good rather than use an aftermarket one or even a CVJ rebuild. I think I fixed my problem for now using a hose clamp, but I'll have to re-boot it eventually.
