Just fitting to my 5th Gen today. There are no torque specs in the instructions. Does anyone have a list for shocks, sway bar etc. from a service manual?

Should also add that as it's a trail with KDSS it's a little different to the instructions. Not sure if I really need to remove the whole sway bar. any advice from someone who's done it before would be great!!

I tourqued to 80 I think. No need to remove front sway bar or install sway bar relocates. Just remove front assemblies and replace.

give me a second and i will get them for you. pm me with your email and maybe i can upload it that way if you want.

Well.....after hours of mis steps I eventually got the first front shock off. I tried everything possible to fit the Toytec shock without having to pop the tie rod but I just can't make it fit.

Did anyone else move the tie rod out of the way to do theirs? If that's the only way I'll go down to Harbor Freight in the morning and get a ball joint puller.

a 2nd set of hands, or feet in thise case, will be very helpful in pushing that LCA down so you can wiggle that shock/spring out. good luck and keep us updated.

Just curious....Where are you getting those torque figures?
The lower shock mount torque should be 72 ftlbs
The whole 5th Gen 4Runner factory repair manual with the torques is down loadable on the forum. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/65237-tis-fsm-2010-4runner-here.html#post565247

I put a Toytec Ultimate suspension on a TE and I had to take the front KDSS swaybar loose on one end.Maybe it can be done without taking it loose but I couldn't get enough down travel to get the CO out. Used a hydraulic jack to get it back in place and line it up after changing the CO. Didn't take the tie rod ends loose .

i called a bud of mine that has a 2010 and he read it off to me. sorry if the info was incorrect on that one. no harm meant by it.

Downloading now.....I'm going to have to pop the tei end as I've squeezed most of the grease out already trying to pull it off.

Bluebarron, get a big dead blow hammer and hit the tie rod end a couple times, it will just pop right out. Don't be afraid to hit it hard!!! No need for a puller.

Tried that.....I must be pretty weak as I can't get it to budge. Got the shock in after seeing how to push the lower arm down with a long bar.....wish I'd thought of that before messing around with the tie rod.

Well......got the front shocks done :). First one took over a day and the second one less than 2 hours. An hour of that was getting the KDSS sway bar back on with ratchet straps and a hydraulic jack.

I'll be doing the rear over Thanksgiving......had too many other chores today.

Checked the before and after height and there's a 4 inch increase!!

back only takes about 30-45 minutes. it's honestly a snap. i was out your way today, should have sent you a pm and stopped by to lend a hand. hope the rear goes better for you than the front did.

That sucks, mine just popped out when I banged on them for a couple seconds. Things always have to be a PITA huh?

Glad you got the front on, back is super easy. CHeers.

Congrats on the new setup.
