Total Automotive Performance ? - Rigid LED Fog Bracket & P&P Harness Order Issues

I wanted to see if anyone had a buying experience with these guys? I ask because I placed an order for the Rigid LED Fog Light Bracket and Plug-in-Play wiring harness over 2-weeks ago and was told everything is in-stock. I received the brackets directly from Rigid (drop-shipped) but still no harness kit.

The order details & tracking came from a "Moore Racing Technology" - not Total Automotive Performance- (I assume they drop ship for Total as well) and they have no phone # and have not responded to my emails.

Before bashing these guys... I have been communicating with Total Auto Perf. and they all the sudden forgot who I am, and claim they've never received and/or placed an order in my name even know I have sent the invoice for their review. I am now out of luck since the P&P harness is a crucial part of running my Rigid Light into the factory socket without needing to modify anything.

Has anyone had similar issues with this vendor? Or is this just an anomaly? I am getting pretty frustrated and don't really want to dispute the charge on PayPal because I need this harness kit!

Suggestions welcome. :help:

Thank you.

I have ordered a few times from them. Always been great.

There is a bunch of drama going on with MRT though. There is a thread about it.

TAP is known for their excellent customer service - this is SEMA week so I am sure it is adding to some delays you are experiencing.

Thank you for the continued support.

We are known for excellent customer service and everyone here has been working extra this week because of SEMA.

We look forward to assisting Adventure-Yeti anyway we can as we do with all forum members.

Best,

Customer Support

Do you mind sharing or PMing me the link to this? I have recently done business with MRT and everything seemed to go smooth, pricing was reasonable, support for questions was there.....items should be arriving Monday,

I do however recall someone else having a similar issue with a wiring harness and i seemed to be an issue with clear descriptions on the website that was resolved. Anyways, I like to stay in the loop where possible, with vendors so we can share that information with other members.

Also ordered through them. Not only that I have also PM'd them multiple times on here and has been extremely helpful when not even buying through them.
As others have said....its the Mecca of aftermarket car shows this week so I feel like most shops there will be a delay.

i've ordered several things through them and would continue to do to. Good pricing, quick shipping, and the one small issue I did have (something small missing) was quickly resolved in a very acceptable manner.

Update-

I am at SEMA as well and was able to chat with Richard, Total's Cust. Service Manager. They are now assisting me to get the harness. I guess MRT assists Total with more technical questions using their username here on our forum. MRT placed the order directly through his company via PayPal, vs. using Total's invoicing so Total had no clue I existed and/or had a pending order. So technically, it's an MRT thing at this point - but Total did mention they are going to see what they can do to ensure this type of thing doesn't happen in the future.

I am faithful Richard will do what it takes to make this right, and ultimately get me the H11 Plug-n-Play harness. Fingers crossed that he can do it before I leave for Turf-N-Surf on Veterans Day weekend coming up! :surfer:

Haha, yes I was! And when I wrote this, I was finally getting a moment to relax and get caught up lol.

I have some pretty nice shots of various booths within and will def. post them soon. I was actually there working, as I am a Content Manager for Innocean who is the Ad Agency on Record for Hyundai & Kia! So I was mainly in those two booths.

That sounds awesome. So lets see those Genesis' and Eqqus!

Edit: It only took a few business hours for Chas/MRT to respond and explain the minor delay and provide a tracking number. So all in all a smooth transaction. I will leave my note below for others just to be aware of who to go to for support/questions. I still think that using a different forum account is strange but in the end it would not stop me from doing business with them again assuming all the other GB stuff works out.

Funny how I posted above, I now have a similar situation. They are working through it now (been <24hrs) so I won't go as far to bash any one but I want to point out what was already stated above to help clarify for others.

Chas/MRT is not TAP, they are different companies and seem to not have their ordering systems cross linked. I don't like this as most of us PM/Work through the TAP user name, sometimes its Chas , sometimes not. In my case it was all through Chas via TAP ID(questions, pricing, order) and then when it came time to bill it was done via PayPal and MRT, no red flags as I was aware they were related in some way etc but was shocked when something didn't show up in shipping and I went to PM TAP whom the original questions and pricing was done and they had no record of my order. This was because it was routed through MRT by Chas, to me it seems very odd.

MRT should not be using the TAP forum ID to route orders. If Chas wants to help TAP by monitoring that account and answering questions, awesome and I hope they have some sort or tracking/payment for his efforts but dealing with the TAP account and then ordering through MRT makes it confusing to get support if one needs it.

At this points its been <24hrs so I have full faith that MRT will ship out the remaining parts shortly or has already done so and just didn't provide a tracking number but I wanted to share my experience with folks here so hopefully they are clear who they are ordering from.

it is strange... items shipped direct from Rigid but no cable...

Are you getting the cable to adapt to the 4runner harness? in another thread, it was updated that these are not in stock.

I have a big order for some shocks and other parts and no response from MRT on estimated ship date. I would like to get this stuff before the snow starts falling so I can mount my new wheels and tires...:whip:

EDIT TO ADD:

I have left a few voice mails, IM's and e-mails over the last few days...

Has appears to have gone dark:

I finally received my harness. It doesn't work with my factory harness so back to the drawing board. I am not even going to attempt to return them and ask for a refund because that will never happen. Thankfully it is only $18 -

Honestly, TAP is great. Richard communicated the issues well and ensured I was taken care of. They need to absolutely NOT allow MRT to communicate through their profile name, as they will tarnish their reputation quickly.

MRT is trying. I think it's a 1 man show, and their intent, and desire to expand is great. However, they need to really be more in-tune with communication, supplying factual eta's and ensuring tracking #'s are provided.

I don't think I'll be ordering anything from either of these companies ever again.

this is not good...

I have received (directly from Rigid) the driving lights and adapters to fit the 4Runner openings but no other information. Regarding the harness, it doesn't plug n play or just isn't functional? I will have to figure that out...

more troubling is the lack of information from MRT. I understand they were out at SEMA for a week but I have tried to get information with no success. The lack of a response once the order (and money) is inexcusable...

I hope I can get some response by the end of this week or I will need to take some action in order to get my suspension done before winter.

Yeah, I received the rigid brackets as (1) shipment stand-alone. And the MRT harness as a separate package. The harness doesn't fit my H16 plug socket - so I can't even attempt to make it work. I think they sent the wrong adapter by accident.

My thoughts. Baja Designs is near my office here in Huntington. I'll probably drive over and see if their Quad L.E.D Light and harness will plug-n-play w.o. further modifications.

I was pretty adamant about this being an OEM+ add-on.. not having to cut/splice anything. Thus far- this is not the case sadly.
