Total Chaos LCA Owners - Need input (Install)

I finally got around to throwing my TC LCA's (stock length) in.

The strut mount is too narrow (by about 2-3mm). Has anyone run into this?

I have the technology to make it fit, but don't want to start pulling out my hammer and destroying the clear coat.

Pretty disappointed to tell you the truth. Just want to see if this is a normal occurrence or if I got the lucky set.

I am planning to put a bolt in there with two nuts that will screw outwards to hopefully open it up but this can't be normal.

That's another option, but for forking out $2720 CAD, I shouldn't have to. Just want to see if this is normal. Maybe their QC dropped the ball.

With it being a welded tab, I would only grind down the bushing on the shock. Pre-loading the tab cant be good in the long run. If you can wait, I would call TC and get the dimension it should be to double check.

Yes this. Those arms are designed for rod end high end shocks.

Not sure if that is the best idea.. the body may still make contact vertically. Might work... The mounting bucket on the stock LCAs is shallow...but hollowed out/contoured for a bushing body .

Good to see that. I do plan on upgrading the OME's. Sounds like an easy fix, thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure it was normal for my setup.

Yes, this is true. I just grinded down the sides but it touches the LCA at the bottom.

I planned on upgrading the front struts anyway but didn't anticipate it happening this soon.

Update - just ordered Fox 2.5's non res.

This hopefully is a good heads up for anyone else that might end up in my boat.

Have to say, loved the OME's. Looking forward to the Fox's though.
