North that looks pretty sweet. Hopefully uhaul will have something like that. If I use the tape I hope it doesn't leave a residue that is hard to get off. Went I went to the Supra meet a couple of years ago SW put duct tape all around his car before road racing.

I'm not too into sports cars since I can only really afford to keep one car and need practicality. BUT, the 4th gen Supra, 2nd Gen MR-2 and Celica All-Trac Turbo are my all time favorite sports cars. Notice they're all Toyota sports cars too.

Wash and wax the Supra before you put the tape on for some added protection. BTW, all last summer I had the 3M blue painter's tape on the door sill area of my 4Runner. I use the McKesh Towing mirrors and the tape helps protect from scratches from the lower door mirror anchor. When I removed the tape last November I had little, if any residue issues.

Charlie now that I think about it, it probably wasn't duct tape, but some kind of other tape, like packing tape. SW is smarter than that, I just recalled incorrectly.

Just reserved a Uhaul auto carrier. $452 for 5 days...OUCH!

Whatever tape (probably not duct) he was using must have been safe.....cause this SW guy has a car collection so immaculate it makes me cry....

Just a thought... have you looked into the cost of having your Supra moved by one of the companies that specializes in collector car auto transport?

Or just a roll-back flat bed. There are plenty of auto shippers out there.

I can understand your concerns about keeping an eye on your car.

With that much $$$ in your Supra I would image you have an "agreed on value" auto insurance policy?
You might want to read the fine print in the insurance policy for your Supra to make sure you are totally covered when you are towing it yourself.

If you do not already have them buy some heavy duty trailer hitch locks for your trip.

Yeah, I checked with my insurance, and I'm covered.

I'm going to rig up Thursday and I looked around the hitch and didn't notice a harness? Where did they stash that thing

Also, I looked at the autocarrier and it has a rectangular (4pin?) connector. They included some kind of adapter with the 4Runner. Will I have to use it?

You need a 7pin to 4 pin converter. Uhaul has these for about $10. The harness is used for a trailer brake controller. The hookup for the trailer is a round plug on the driver's side of the hitch.

Thanks Kevin! I think I'm all set. I'll call and make sure they have the adapter.

I purchased a towing kit from autozone yesterday. 2" ball but is only rated for 6000lbs. I'll be pulling about 5700lbs.
