Follow up to my earlier post... I bought the paid version of the torque app for Android, and its confirmed that it does not pick up trans temp.

I emailed the developer to see if any updates. I may end up buying the Scanguage.

If you have an oil cooler, you could look at your thermostatic fan to make sure it works properly. When driving at low speed and 80F outside temp the fan works almost all the time and I can see the temp going down with it.

It is a mechanical device inside the center of the fan, called a fan clutch, no electronics there. The easiest thing to know if it works is by listening to it. The fan is pretty loud when it is on. You can hardly tell just by looking, as it spins all the time.

It is easy to hear it is when starting from a dead stop, engine is hot and it is warm outside, at or above 80 with A/C on, it should work all the time at very low speed.

I gotcha, I wasnt aware you were talking about the main fan. Yeah it runs fine.

I'm starting to wonder if maybe I have a frozen caliper..... That would def cause a higher tranny temp.
