What kind of temps do you see on your scangauge in stop and go driving around town?

What kind of temps do you see on your scangauge in stop and go driving around town?

Depends of the outside temp, but on a 75-80f day, it is between 155-165f, max I saw was 170.
In winter time (0-32f), it is around 115f.
Nice trailer....That looks like the 8' box. I have an 03 Coleman (made by Fleetwood) 10' box. Then Fleetwood and Coleman had a falling out..and they stopped making the Coleman trailer. Actually they still made the trailer..but just didn't put the Coleman name on it.
Then in 2008 the plant that the Fleetwood trailers were built at was sold to an investment firm. Then in 2011 they closed the doors.
Now some other camper trailer company has bought the plant and has started building the Fleetwood trailers again.
I LOVE my Fleetwood (aka Coleman). Very well designed...and very well built. Perfect for a small family.

Mine runs quite a bit hotter than that. Kind of worries me.

My transmission is brand new and I drive like an old man.

Mine rarely breaks 200 degrees unless I'm off roading etc. I think I need to have the fluid flushed and see if I have a frozen caliper. I'm running a tranny cooler too and that helped a ton

Yes...On my 05 4runner it came standard with the tow package.

Mike, yours is a v6 right? My 06 with towing package didn't have one.

Oh I believe ya. I'm 90 percent sure I have the towing package. Other than the hitch how can I tell?

Fleetwood bought Coleman, than discontinued pop-up trailers. Glad to hear someone picked them up. Who is it? Be nice incase we needed parts.
Well, I added tongue weight today and lowered the tongue height another 3/4". That seems to have helped my bouncing by about 80% better. My battery was sitting next to LP gas tank, so I moved it forward to it's intended position. I also re-loaded cargo and put heavier stuff towards front.
I tried a 8" drop, but it kept pulling my plug out, so I had to go with 6" drop.The 8" drop put my trailer 2" lower in front verus back and I thought it was more stabile. Just didn't get to drive far due to plug not reaching.
I am going to try to measure tongue weight today yet.
So, the rear of my tow vehicle now compresses 1 3/4" with the trailer hooked up 22" center of axle to fender.
Front is 21 1/4", so I still have a little rack, not nose high.
The box on the trailer is pretty much level at 16" front and rear. Should come down a little with the tow vehicle completely packed out. Good for now.
I'll add info on tongue weight wjhen I get it.

Yep, I looked into it.
They only had 4' extensions and they were $62.
I am satisfied with where I ended up. I think I might have seen swaying with the 8" drop anyways. Thanks for the heads up though.

Wow are they made of gold? I have seen them for much much less than that.
You can always just make a plug set up then it would not cost way that much.
All the parts are at walmart .......well the walmarts by me at least.

If you have an oil cooler, you could look at your thermostatic fan to make sure it works properly. When driving at low speed and 80F outside temp the fan works almost all the time and I can see the temp going down with it.
