So im shopping around for a new set of tires and I am considering the following: Nitto Terra Grappler, Ridge Grapplers and Toyo Open Country AT2 in 275/65/18. I would like to have a P rated or C rated tire due to their lower weight and because the E rated tires are overkill in my opinion for my specific situation which is mall crawler status.
Upon research I found the following weights and descriptions for each
XL Terra Grappler weight (C) - 43.72lbs
LT Terra Grappler weight (E) - 49.84lbs
LT Ridge Grappler weight (E)- 56.36lbs
P Open Country AT2 (SL) - 51.00lbs
LT Open Country AT2 (E) - 53.00lbs
Why are the Toyos so much heaver than the rest and even heavier than (E) range tires of competing brands?
Will the higher weights affect balancing?
