Toyota 4runner Limited 0-60mph

I did a quick 0-60 run in my 4runner. Not my best run but it was alright. It is a V6(1GR-FE) 4.0. Bone stock, with two heavy subs in the back! Tell me what you think? Average? Slow? Fast?

Well I had about a 90lb sound system, A/C on, lost a bit of traction so VSC kicked in. Maybe a little better. Not much.

8 seconds is pretty impressive under the conditions.

I'd be curious about the results in full-time 4WD mode.

To be honest with you im sure i could get the same time as you IF i had an exhaust, an intake, and minus my heavy subwoofers, more tractions since i did it in showery weather, and kill the a/c

I've, perhaps, been guilty in the past of over-touting the V8s performance vis-a-vis the V6. Recent discussion has tended to make me think there's seemingly no reason an unloaded 4th gen V6 shouldn't be around 7 seconds. Remember, it's hauling 200lbs less than the V8.

It should be around 7 seconds--7.2--according to cars.com. The V8 is listed at 7.1 and change for the 4X4. According to most stats, the GVW is not even 200 pounds different, (140) as i recall, depending on trim level, which is what, 3.5% of 5500#? Not enough to overcome the massive torque difference and the better gearing of the V8 in the same conditions.

'05 and up, same gearing.

The curb weight difference is a solid 200lbs according to the '05 brochure.

Once any loading occurs, all bets are off, but head to head unloaded it would seem to be close on paper.

im runing 245/65/17 in that vid so im guess its a little less weight then stock 265/65 tires
