Toyota of Glendale, CA

I purchased a new Trail 4Runner from Glendale Toyota yesterday. I was referred to them by AAA California which has a special deal worked out with participating dealers in So Cal to get you a few hundred over invoice on Toyotas. The 4Runner is on that list at $500 over invoice which is an excellent deal.

Working with Lisa Charles from Toy of Glendale was a great experience. She is the fleet manager and is honest, upfront and tells it like it is. She showed me the true invoice on the vehicle as well as the AAA negotiated price. With this deal I got the truck at about $800 less than any other dealer that I had spoken with (Toyota Torrance, Carson Toyota and Cabe in Long Beach) and the process was MUCH better and positive dealing with Lisa than the unethical, pressure filled blatent outright lies that the other 3 dealers put me through.

All in all it was one of the better experiences that Ive had purchasing a new car. Honest price, no pressure and no hidden fees or anything that they tried to push on me when I signed the purchase agreement. If you are looking for a 4Runner or any Toyota in So Cal, call Lisa at Glendale. It helps to be a AAA member and they also honor the Costco buying program.

No I dont work for them... :) just had a good experience and wanted to share it here.

I am glad to see you had such a good experience.

I used to service my car there, but I have had so many problems with them I no longer use their service department, I go to Toyota of Pasadena.

Thats OK, Im not going to use their service dept. anyway. Its far too far from where I live. However in this case....the buying experience with this particular fleet manager and the AAA buyer program was excellent. After dealing with flimsy ethics from Torrance and Carson Toyota and getting typical dealer pushback on pricing from Cabe Toyota in Long Beach.... it was really nice to get a very good price and not the typical dealer BS.

And that was my point of posting this post: to try and help others who are looking at a new 4Runner to get the best deal and more honest approach to sales from a particular dealer. I cant vouche for their service dept. but thats not really my point here.... :)

Mike...Lisa Charles direct number is 818-572-4715, IMO get a referral from AAA or Costco to get the good price both are $500 over invoice which gets you in at about $35.7 on a Trail with KDSS option. Maybe you can do better elsewhere but I looked at those other dealers and they were all jerking me around at a much higher price. I think Lisa just wants to sell cars and not waste time like those other dealers do.

Thanks! Hope she works Sundays.

good luck...hope it works out Mike... she is the only one that Id deal with over there and she was pretty easy to work with... no attempts to try to sell me extras or anything like that... they may not have another TE in stock but hopefully if thats what you are looking for they can get one soon. TEs are starting to trickle in to the LA market more now...but Limiteds and SRs are out there quite a bit.

Further followup on this:

IM still very happy with my purchase from Glendale...but a couple things...they were all about reminding me to give them a perfect rating score with Toyota (which I didnt because they were not perfect)... and I didnt get a follow up call from them untill AFTER I filled out the survey 3 weeks after taking possession.

OK... well Im in sales and I guarantee you If I sell someone something that is 40 thousand dollars I am following up the NEXT day on it... and I follow up until I know that they are satisfied.

That is the difference between car sales people and professional sales people.

and she didnt know all the features of the Trail Edition and dismissed the shitty rear window wiper flaw....

so IM downgrading her to a 6.5 out of 10 and only because it was a good price and she picked me up at my house to do the deal.

all stealers are the same...not real sales people

I dealt with them. They are pretty cool. They are clueless about the vehicle features, and will pretty much say anything to sell a vehicle, whether it is true or not. They have way too many vehicles to even keep track of their own inventory and seem constantly rattled by any sort of question. But at least they try much harder than the majority of SoCal dealers.

They are also not too aware of laws concerning out of state purchases. But at least they were nice. I ended up undoing the deal at the very end, because they had some shady paperwork filled out and claimed it was "law", when it was really only their attempt at "store policy". Nothing makes me madder than having a policy that is totally skewed towards your company and then claiming it is a LAW. Some of us are still aware of what laws actually are. It reminds me of tire shops that claim that they can not legally let you drive off the lot without having a thousand dollars of suspension work done. It isn't a law. It's a suggestion. Liars.
