Toyota Pre Purchase Inspection

Looking to get a new 4runner tomorrow and I'm planning on getting a pre-purchase inspection done. Has anyone had one performed before? Was it worth paying the extra for Toyota to perform it. How much did it cost?

I'm definitely getting it professionally checked out first, but Toyota said it would be $150 and take a few hours. :wow: It will be worth it though if they find something, but suck if I didn't buy the 4runner and had to bite the bullet on $150.

I say it's worth it. If you get a competent tech (which you usually will) They'll check tires brakes, frame damage, body damage, make sure all accessories work. Usually take it on a quick test drive to check for noises, and they'll also write up a quote for any issues they find.

I got one, and I would definitely get it again. They told me the brake fluid needed replacing, even that I had mis-matching lug nuts! They seemed pretty thorough.

I just bought a 00, while cleaning my rig up, was scraping off the oil residue off the rear dif. big flake came OFF and sprouted a leak. oh great now I have had the vehicle for 5 days and I have to replace the axle housing.

I would spend the $ for sure to get it checked out. what htey find can help you make the desision on what you are willing to live with and fix your self.

Yeah im definitely getting it checked out. Just wondering if anyone did one at a inch shop. I had to call 4 dealerships to find one that had time. Hopefully everything goes well and I have a new 4runner to drive home in.
