Like rolling the windows down with the key fob? Yeah, I love that feature! You can also roll the windows up with the key in the driver's door, but for some dumb reason, you can't do it with the key fob!

I also thought that that was a really cool feature and promptly took my brand-new 2015 trail to the dealership to have them enable the feature. Several days later I walked outside to find that while the key fob was in my pocket, it rolled down the windows...during a rainstorm...

Similar story: Rain hadn't started yet, but luckily enough a restaurant attendant found me at my table and asked if my windows were down (they saw me exit my sexy T4R on my way in). Sure enough, the fob's "unlock" button had been triggered and held-down in my pocket! Even the sunroof was all the way open! Another 10 minutes and I would have had a VERY wet T4R.

Now, I take my keys out of my pocket when wearing jeans and sitting down within RF range of my baby. But truth be told, I don't use this function all that much (but when needed on a 105 degree day, it is a welcomed feature).

Haha. It wasn't pleasant. There were some choice words that came out of my mouth for sure. I no longer keep my keys in my pocket while at work.

You have to hold open button for a while for windows to lower. Unlucky but unlikely to happen often.

Bought this for my '15 Limited. Shipped with the latest 10.xxx version. Installed the programs on the supplied mini-CD using an old XP diesel powered laptop. I scanned with Microsoft Security Essentials before install and found no viruses at all. I think some might be experiencing a "false positive" trojan alert. This is very common among pirated or cracked keygenned software. No need to worry.
Anywho, the techstream and MVCI drivers installed and worked flawlessly with no additional .ini editing.
I was able to switch off the damn seatbelt chime in a few short clicks. I originally wanted to enable the windows up/down via remote, but I probably found my 3rd gen with the rear window down at least a dozen times in the 15 years I had it. I am not taking the chance with the '15.
I did want to enable GPS usage while driving. Is that doable via techstream or is that a physical modification?

So I received my Amazon cable yesterday, and downloaded the most recent software - 10.10.018- from this page - Toyota TechStream Ver GTS_10.10.018 - Diagnostic Tools for FR-S/GT86/BRZ - Scion FR-S Forum | Subaru BRZ Forum | Toyota 86 GT 86 Forum | AS1 Forum - FT86CLUB

Everything installed fine on XP 64-bit, but I cannot see or find how to disable the seat belt chime. I've looked in every screen. All the other options appear to be there.

Any ideas? Should I downgrade to an earlier version?

Thats the same version I used. I want to say its under drivers seat an passenger seat... or body. May not be in the customization menu either I had to search around.

Might wanna hit up the 4th gen guys in the tis or techstream threads, since they will probably be the only ones who have played with techstream on a 4th gen.

I tried searching for you, but there wasn't much info on it and the posts were a bit dated. If you pm one of those guys to check for you, I bet they'd plug it in and see if that's an option for ya.

I've tried door open, closed, key in, key out, engine running... The software and dongle seem to work fine otherwise. I can change settings, etc.

Yes. Disables both driver and passenger seatbelt chime. Just uncheck the box in Techstream. Main reason I got software is to turn off that chime.

I tried a different laptop tonight, same result. I can't get the immobilizer to come up. Says that it is unable to connect, and thus won't let me go any further. Any ideas?

Well, I figured it out. One of the pins was bent on the dongle. Oddly, some communication and configuration could occur, but not with the immobilizer module.

Hope this helps someone in the future.

I used it on my 2016 to add another key. I have the same one in the link you posted.

So does this cable just plug into OBD port and a laptop? Software is preloaded on device? I just ordered for 2014.
