Cable firmware tool
Hi, can anyone upload or provide a link for the Xhorse Firmware update tool? Or any version of the firmware update tool. I would like to check that the cable functions and what firmware version is on the cable.
Persons with earlier versions should have this on their CD, my copy didnt have it.

You need XP because the software on Windows 7 or 10 will not recognize the connection for some reason, at least I could not get it to work. I had an old XP desktop laying around, I was able to boot it up and get the software loaded and it worked fine. Once I found where to turn off the seatbelt ding in the software, it took about 2 seconds. To me, it was well worth the money and effort to get rid of the annoying dinging.
After finding an old laptop that was compatible for the software, I made it to the login page on the techstream download and I could not proceed. The portion of the software key on the CD did not open up. Only had a RAR file. Anyone know a login key that would work or a way to bypass? Thanks in advance.

I got my system going V10.30.029, Windows 7/64 bit. Purchased from obdfamily on ebay.
I read the instructions and watched the video supplied on the disk on how to install the system and it was a "no go". Uninstall, reinstall still it did not work. I could not get pass the screen where you had to enter the serial number. Then I watched a video on Youtube and I noticed there was a step missing on the supplied disk/instruction. If you watch this video,

at the 0.40 mark, he copies/replaces the desktop main menu with a different main menu supplied on the disk.
After that my system works everytime.
I hope this helps someone else trying to get pass the serial number screen.

Techstream worked no problem to disable the seat belt chime. I also turned on the ability to roll down all the windows with the fob. I'm going to spend some more time and look at the other options.
Only problem I had is I ordered a new key off Amazon (G chip) and programed it. The key starts the truck but the fob does not work (lock/unlock/panic)
Does anyone know if there is an extra step needed to program the fob?

i haven't done it on a new 4Runner, but generally the process for programming the fob is the Toyota "door dance". after registering the new key/transponder with Techstream, you have to do a bunch of open/close door & insert/remove key steps in a certain order (timing is key) and the system will enable programming the new fob buttons. like this: Key Immobilizer and Remote Programming Using Toyota Techstream Software - Toyota / Lexus

I've bought a couple of these but have never been able to get it to work. I always thought it was because I was running Win7.
Just watched the video and looked up the seller on ebay. He's asking $39.99 which is twice what I've paid in the past (through amazon, so was able to return in both instances). This seller is in Hong Kong. How long did the shipping take?
Yeah, I tried that as well with no luck. I don't know if that applies to the 5th Gen. Unless my timing was off... I'll play around some more and see if I can get it to work. I may have missed an option. I ordered another key to try again.
It took about 4 weeks to get to Canada. Definitely not the quickest.
It's a different section of Techstream from the immobilizer. Under MAIN BODY, select UTILITY on the left side. It's then WIRELESS CODE REGISTRATION. Follow instructions on the screen.

3. I installed it on Win7 32 bit. 32 bit definitely makes the install much simpler. My brother got it working on his Lexus on a Win10 64 bit laptop but it took a lot more messing around with files/drivers (we both work in IT) if you want to save yourself time/headaches just use XP or Win7 32 bit. I also recommend you do it on a machine that you don't use regularly.
Version 12 listed above works great
