imo not really suited for off roading per se. too big, wide, long, unwieldy.

There's lots of types of offroading. The Raptor isn't supposed to be a crawler, it's supposed to be a go-fast-in-the-desert truck. It's pretty good at it, but as noted, not near as good as it should be with that price tag...

yeah my original post was going to say it was more suited for the Baja 1000 than off roading that we think of.

Yup. A lot of that was driver, he hucked way too far and landed on the flat. But for the price of that truck, I bet I could build a buggy that would survive that jump...

Lmao, what an idiot, all the Raptor has from the factory is a glorified mid-travel kit, 12 inches of travel definitely doesn't go far at all in the desert, a mild prerunner build usually pull 17+

Exactly! I might need a 220 welder but I am pretty sure a little one seater long travel buggy with a vw engine or even a busa engine would outperform the raptor.....and cost less than a 10th of the raptor. And that's with premium suspension parts.
