Toyota wiper blades

Just looked up info for my 2015 LE and they were $6.75 each from:

We bought our TEP in January of 2015. I am still using the original wiper blades, have done nothing to them other than wash them when I wash the vehicle, use any old kind of washer fluid, and they ARE THE BEST WIPER BLADES I HAVE EVER USED!! I can't believe that they clean streak free and make no noise!!! Is anyone else having this kind of success? I know that when I do need to replace I will get Toyota inserts from the dealer and put them in. Amazing!

Since 2010 I have replaced inserts twice, second time just few weeks ago. So an average a refill lasts 3.5 years for me.

Yep, eBay is the way to go on something like this due to shipping costs.

I get Bosh blades at Walmart or Costco for the same price or less on sale. One set lasts about two years for me.

Are the Toyota blades *that* good?

You are not lying, My Taco I bought in 2012 and traded it in in June 2017 with the original blades. Not perfect, but still did the job quite well.

Garage kept, not sure if that helped or not.

Just my 2 cents here.....Dodge uses the same blade. My GF's Cherokee has the same exact blades. Both the wiper and the rubber blade.

That's interesting. I would think a domestic manufacturer would use a company like Trico for OEM while Toyota would use NWB. I know a lot of European vehicles use Valeo, who makes a darn fine wiper blade in my experience (in fact, if I'm not buying blades for a Toyota, I normally use Valeo).

Y'all are funny. I just buy a pair of $40 Bosch/RainX/etc wipers every couple of years when they need to be replaced. I've never thought any more about it than that.

I too am amazed at the quality of the stock wiper blades. I'm getting close to two years since I bought my 4Runner and the blades are still like new.

I've tried many different brands in the past, on my previous vehicles, none ever lasted much more than a year at best.

You're funny, throwing something perfectly good away because a replaceable wearable part is worn out. It take 5 minutes to replace the inserts, it takes 2 minutes just to open the new assembly packaging and remove the blades.

Same mentality, like throwing away an excavator bucket because the teeth have worn down. :noidea:

Hey, it's your money to waste. Feel free to get something that might not perform as well (I'm certain it doesn't perform better), possibly changes the wipe area, and makes the blade frame look odd (or maybe even stick up higher), while at the same time paying more than double the price.

This isn't my first wiper blade rodeo, haha.
