Toytec Ultimate 3" lift removal

I wanted to see if anyone knew of a place around Charlotte, NC where I could get a toytec 2'' lift removed and approximately how much it would cost. I don't have any of the old factory parts.

There is a 4WheelParts store located on South Boulevard. They'd probably charge you a pretty penny to do it though. I'm ball-parking somewhere in the $400 range.

I've got some 4Runner buddy's that may be able to help with the job, but I'd need to see if it was ok with them.

Is it actually the "Ultimate" lift? Why would you want to remove it? I'm pretty sure I've got all of the factory stuff lying around somewhere if you wanted to swap.
 
The lift is killing my MPG and am ready to lower it. If you could set me up with them that would be great! I would be very interested in a straight swap!

What you should do is advertise in the classifieds for someone ot come and do a swap with you. I'm sure there are plenty of guys with the know how that can give you their stock suspension in place for a free lift. No money out of pocket, just make sure they do a good job.

Dang, I was gonna say I would buy that off you!?! How severe was your MPG loss?

I'd do it at my house, but I'm in an apartment at the moment. If they can't do it, I can do it for you at my old mans' house, but you gotta be willing to drive to Clover, SC.
 
Oh, actually I forgot to say, If you've got the driveway space and tools (not a necessity cause I can bring them), we can do it at your house.
 
Also have you got plus sized tires? Those are gonna hurt your MPG's more than the lift will. Also means it'll be harder for you to go back to stock ride height. Or are you just lifted on stock size tires? If it truly is the "ultimate" then it's adjustable in the front, you just need stock coils (cheap) in the rear.

V6 or V8? Have you done all of your routine maintenance (fluids, tune-ups, etc.)? Ensured that your calipers are free? All of this stuff will kill your MPG.

Don't get me wrong, I'd kill for 16.5 MPG's right now, but that's a whole different story :)

whose driveway? Not any more debris or junk as any other driveway I suppose. I've, as have a lot of members here, done pretty much all of my mods in some sort of driveway, haha
 
It's a V6 and I'll be honest, I have little to no mechanical knowledge. I bought this truck off a guy cause it was a great deal, but know that my ride is pretty rough right now and was told that taking the lift off would help the comfort of the ride. If there is something else I can do to make the overall ride more comfortable, let me know!

I have oversized tires on it that I'm planning to take off when they need to be replaced.

I'd be glad to take a look at it for you and see what we can do. If you'd like to post pictures and specs here, maybe it'd be a start. overall pictures of your truck, tires with brand and size info. Close up shots of the suspension if you can get them including front struts, rear coils and rear shocks. Maybe we can work with what you got to get the results you desire, if not, I'll swap them out for you. If it's possible for me to take a look in person, I'd be up for it as well.
 
Definitely, that would be great! I will post some pictures later today when I have the chance. I would definitely appreciate any assistance you could provide. This weekend would be a great if you have time!
 
the shops always opened to a t4r member :wave: I live just south of charlotte in monroe just past mathews and indian trail heading down 74.

what size tires are you running right now, I only ask because if there large enough you won't be able to lower the truck without down sizing the tires.

If superman is willing to swap out parts with you he can bring them out to the shop to do the swap. (he can't touch any bolts though or they'll break i mean he's superman what can you expect lol)

If you want to ride out or meet up somewhere and have me or superman look over your truck for anything in particular that may hinder fuel mileage we may be able to just tune what you have a bit to your liking. the lift kit you have utilizes really good shocks and stiffer springs so the ride is going to become much softer going to a factory setup (just an FYI everyone has there preferences). Anywho let me know what yall want to do.

I have a backpacking trip this weekend but i'd be available the following weekend. or we can work that out later its whatever.

I live just off Rama Rd, so maybe some day after work this week we could meet for you to check it out? That might be the easiest thing to do, if you don't mind!
 
I can meet you at scott clark toyota or any neighboring business but i work 8-5 then i have class 6-8:40 If you don;t mind meeting up late like around 8:30 or 9 I can catch up with you right after class on a night we get out early you could PM me your number an i can text you when i get out of class other then that I'm tied up till the friday after this one
