TPMS Blinking after ice storm In Dallas

I have a 2005 limited 4x4 and after the ice storm we just had in Dallas my TPMS light starts blinking. Its blinks so I know it has a malfunction not just low tire pressure. Does anyone know how to rest set the system or how to stop the light from blinking?

I'm in Dallas too. Mine started blinking last saturday...it eventually went away after storing it in a parking garage and the ice melting a bit.

May want to wait a bit to see if it turns off...

You can't "stop" it from blinking; it's a fault in the system. Probably a failed sensor battery which means the sensor needs to be replaced.
So you can replace it or disable the system to get the light to stop flashing.

Probably due to the drop in temperature. either one or more of your tires lost some psi, and/or the spare.. Like SSt4r said, you can disable the light if you so choose by doing the TPMS Mod. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/108176-write-up-how-disable-bypass-tpms.html

What awdjunkie said. My 2008 did the same thing a few years back after spending the night in the mountains. Warmed up and was fine.

Yep mine did it just last wk here & it was my spare , seemed like it was ok by just doing the old trucker trick pounding on it with bat but put some air in it turned right off can't hurt !

Thanks for the fast responses. My 4runner needs the inspection does it matter if the TPMS light is blinking, I'm in Texas.

TPMS sensor function is not required in Texas. They just check the air pressure in the tires. You should be fine.
