TPMS disable malfunction blink only..

I know there's like 3x10^15 threads around here on disabling the TPMS altogether or how to reset it, but I like the reminder that my wheels are low. I also don't like the reminder that my 5th/spare wheel for some absurd reason doesn't have a TPMS sensor in it, and buying a 5th OEM tire seems dumb, as does buying 5 new rims from some aftermarket vendor. I'm looking to not spend $500+ for no reason here.

Therefore: is there any way to disable the blinking, I-don't-hear-5-sensors-error indicator only, but leave the solid-on, your-tire-is/are-low indicator intact?

Your post is kind of confusing.

You want the TPMS light to show you when you have a low tire (SOLID)

but...

You don't want the TPMS light to show there is a fault or bad sensor (Blinking)

Pull the TPMS sensors out and throw them away. Check your air pressure every so often (once a week) the old fashioned way. It sound like you have already spliced the TPMS module wires.

Buy a new / used sensor and have it put into your spare.

You can't the TPMS unit is hardcoded (cannot be changed via TIS Techstream) to be programmed with 5 sensors, there's no way around it. I doubt you can hook up another TPMS module (say from a Corolla that is hardcoded for 4).

You can't have it both ways. There are plenty of TPMS units that will work with Toyota's system and most shops should be able to install it and program it. To be honest (and pardon me if this comes across a bit harsh, because its not my intention) it just sounds like you don't want to run a spare tire, or don't want to make sure the spare tire is inflated properly so that when you do need it it's not just another flat tire.

It shouldn't cost you more than $200 to get a factory TPMS and have it programmed, it should be even less if you find a good aftermarket unit and a tire shop that can program sensors.
