Tpms does not flash

I swapped out my set of wheels with sensors with my winter set that have no sensors. The tpms light did not come on. At first I though, ok I am still within range so I drove way from my house and tpms did not come. Stopped and restarted the car, tpms lights turn on quickly as a self check light all other indicators like do at startup and then turns off, so tpms check passed and should be working but it is not.


Ideas?

most people wouldnt complain, but try this, go for about an hour drive & see if it comes on. point is you have to drive an amount of distance or time before the light goes on, it will then reset at night when parked near them & be off next day. i dont drive that long & far anymore so mine never comes on unless the stock tires in my garage or spare gets low on air

I wish I had your problem, every time it gets cold the TPMS goes off because it thinks my spare is low and it stays on until it warms up outside. So annoying!!!!!!

Yeah. It may be a good thing it doesn't come on but then I think to myself what else passes the self-check during startup that is truly not working. That is more my concern.

When I got new rims without installing TPMS sensors, the light was off for a couple weeks. I had the wheels in my back yard, but I had driven nearly 20 miles away at times and the light was off the entire time. Ironically, I sold the rims, and on my way home, the light kicked on and started blinking, and has been doing that ever since. :wtf:

like i said, i dont drive that far or long anymore & mines been out for 4 years except when the air gets low in the stock wheels. you might also need to be 50 miles or so away from them for the light to trigger. if you think its not working correctly, air down one of the stock wheels or spare to under 25 & see what happens.

tell me about it! I finally got sick of the light last night and grabbed my air hose and pressure gauge and crawled under to top up the spare lol!
