TPMS interchangeable between Toyota trucks?

I'm looking to get a spare set of tires and figured I need to get new tire pressure sensors.

I have a 2005 model and wanted to know if the sensors are interchangeable between the years and / or Toyota models (i.e., FJ, Tacoma, Sequoia, Tundra, etc). Also, do I need to get then reprogrammed?

thanks

I believe the sensors are compatible with any Toyota model that uses an active tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), but I would check with a dealer to be sure.

Each sensor transmits a unique ID number to the computer on the car. So yes, the TPMS computer on the car needs to be programmed with the ID numbers of the sensors that are installed. There are a couple of other active threads right now about what a pain in the neck this is, because it means that every time you swap wheels, you need to have the computer re-programmed by the dealer. The Land Cruiser is the only model with a TPMS computer that can be programmed for 2 sets of wheels.
