TPMS light bypass switch

I can attest that this super simply process is credible. I did this today on my 04 SR5 V6. The only difference is I utilized the stud on the right hand side of the firewall for a shorter run. I simply grounded out the pink wire/black tracer directly without a switch. I'm old school and still regularly check my tire pressures. This write-up with pictures sure was helpful!

TPMS Light on

I have the dashboard TPMS light staying on all the time and have had it reset with the code reader at the tire installation place. It was on prior to purchasing a set of new tires. The light came on after the installation and the tire shop said I had a bad TPMS sensor and needed to be replaced. I wound up replacing all 5 including the spare at $45/piece. The light went off for about a week and came back on. I returned to the tire shop and they reset the TPMS code and it went off. A few days later the light came back on. What do you think is going on with the TPMS light staying on after replacing all sensors and resetting the codes? I have checked and rechecked the tire pressures and they are all at the manufacturer's recommendation.

My tire pressure light keeps coming on too and I did the "bypass". Really don't like all these nanny systems on the Runner so when I put the new wheels on I'm removing the TPMS sensors all together and pulling the bulb in the dash, fix it FOREVER.

I just did this modification. Followed the original post (thank you). '04 4Runner with 244,983 miles.

I now have to tackle the minor leak in the evap system on the purge side.

Thank you for this write up. I just permanently disabled TPMS on my '04 Runner. I don't really care about having the system. Not enough to spend the money to replace all the old sensors. This extinguished the blinking tire pressure light for good.
