What's wrong with the ones you have? Most tire shops can replace them and have the scanner there to reset them. What is the best replacement TPMS and a reasonable price for the part and installation? Do the stock spare tire on 4-Runners have a TPMS?
I am adding a second complete set of wheels so I have 4 winter tires and 4 summer tires and just need to reprogram then when changing. Thanks. Great Input.

5th gen spares don't have one and the ECU can only read 4 of them anyways.
The stock ones are PMV-107J and you can get new ones on ebay for $25..............
TPMS Tire Pressure Sensor PVM 107J Toyota Lexus Scion | eBay
You'll also need a TPMS service kit which has the nut ,washer ,seal ect........Tire Pressure Sensor Rebuild TPMS TPS Service Pack Kit with Nut Valve Cap Gasket | eBay
If your looking for aftermarket then Orange Electronic is the way to go and they have their own monitor that reads out each tire pressure in real time but the Toyota ECU doesn't read their radio signal.....http://www.amazon.com/Orange-Electronic-P409S-Retrofit-Monitoring/dp/B002DYH586
harper7 is PVM 107J the valid TPMS to use for 5th gen 4Runners? ebay seems to don't think that works for 5th gen! The only list out to 09 4Runner

Does anybody know the torque spec for installing a TPMS sensor?
Couple questions:
1. Am I understanding this correctly? Is there no TPS in the spare or is there a TPS but the system only registers 4?
2. Do you guys have any recommendations for TPS and tire rotation strategy for running 5 full size tires. Would you get a TPS for the 5th (would that even work) and rotate 5, or would you leave off the TPS from the spare and just rotate the 4 and leave the 5th up under the truck used only as a spare?
Thanks All.
The spare does not have a TPMS sensor in it and the system can only read 4 sensors. I put a sensor in my spare AT3 but probably won't rotate it. I do have a ATEQ reader though, and makes checking the pressure in the spare easy as it does not need to be lowered down.
