hi i just got a 2008 runner sr5 v6 4x4 but encountered a flat tire so im using the spare but notice my tpms light is on but been driving like this for couple weeks now so i was just wondering if it'll mess up the computer system plus i plan on getting a friends rims and tires but it doesn't have the tpms sensor thing in the tire so i was wondering if its possible to turn off the tpms with out messing up the computer or shall i just order the sensor and have someone put it in thanks......

I say get it fixed or install tpms sensors in the new rims when you get them. Have you checked the pressure in the spare? That might be your issue with the light on now. It should have a tpms sensor in it also. Good luck.

Didn't want to start a new thread so going to ask my question here. I am an idiot sorry.

I recently had my tire blow out on the road and have already had 2 or 3 tires fixed so I decided I should look to get a new set of tires. I'm looking to get 6 (2 spares) but since I am ordering them from amazon what do I need to do in terms of the TPMS and valve stems? Do I really need a rebuild kit or can I just get the tires and have them mounted, balanced and aligned at a shop?
