TPS Woes, 3vze

Okay, just spent the last hour freezing my arse off outside trying to test/adjust my TPS. All tests are good except for the one that has Idle to E2 at 0.8 mm. I can't get it to go infinitive. Well it does go infinitive, but when the throttle is already open like a half inch or so... So, is this TPS for sure beyond fixing? I just want to double check that there isn't anything else I can do before I go blow $150 on one of these bad boys.

I can't think of why all measurements would be good except one, and it be so far off, unless there is indeed something wrong with it. Has it been damaged in any way?

Not that I'm aware of, but it has been 'cooking' for nearly 20 years on top of the engine. I would imagine its internals loose their oomph over time, but yeah, I expect more than one reading to be off. Talked to my mechanic today, and he said he would replace it, so I guess thats what I am doing. If it fixes my ability to set base timing, I'm happy. I used to be able to set it fine, then one day, without touching a thing, it all went to hell, so crossing my fingers...

New TPS on and adjusted properly. My timing mark has become more stable, but it doesn't re**** when I jumped the diagnostic ports... What else causes problem with the timing jumper?
