The one thing it has on you is
Water intake fording height, thats it.
I got one for a month and a half while at Hurlburt Field in Florida, got some good pictures of the 2wd beast doing what Jeeps are built to do. It was rather tail happy which I loved, but it did not even compare to the Runner, thats like comparing a Regular Jeep Wrangler sport with no LSD and on the stock 29"s to a H1. Seriously, the Runner beeps at you but it keeps going the Liberty just lifts its leg everywhere to "mark" its territory., meaning maxing out its suspension flex and spinning one wheel.
I'm a diehard Wrangler fan, this is my wifes runner, but the Liberty isn't even accepted as a good vehicle in Jeep forums, they hate the grocery getter. It was also the pioneer for Jeep into IFS, it truly rings the tone Inferior Front Suspension.
You could bet pinkslips that you would beat him in everytest, except maybe turning radius. Oh and drifting and burnouts, they do pretty good with those, due to no traction control.
And as far as build quality, think Kia interiors because thats what the inside feels like.
