Traction Control Acting Screwy

Greetings!
My T4R is having an (possibly two) issue(s) with the TC.

If I start out on a loose surface (dirt or millings) and the wheel(s) spin, the unit kicks into action and retards the throttle / applies braking...needless to say I have almost become a hood ornament on several occasions and is a bit unnerving to say the least.

Second, when in 4x4 mode, if I try to accelerate from a stop light or on a wet surface, again the TC kicks in and the 3.4L falls on its face until a few seconds later.

There are no DTC's in the ECM and everything else is in good repair, including a complete brake fluid flush within the last year.

I realize this is what traction control is supposed to do, but it has created situations ranging from annoying to downright dangerous.
For instance (in 2wd), when pulling out from my driveway onto a busy road, if the rear tire(s) slip at all, I get the two yellow indicators flashing in the upper left corner of the dash as my 3rd Gen limps into traffic...then after a few seconds it will start to catch up and accelerate. This can't be right.
Is this normal operation?
Is there a way to disable it without setting off all the lights?

Has anyone experienced similar symptoms?
I am thinking a possible brake module failure/issue, since the ABS/TC Braking and Master Cylinder are an all in one integrated unit.
A faulty ABS wheel sensor would/should trigger a DTC...

Any feedback or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Sounds about right : VSC/TRAC can be a death trap so lots of peeps including myself have done the Andy 2.0 mod.

Sounds pretty normal. Mine does it all the time in the winter with ice and snow on the road. I always try to do a rolling stop cuz there's been a couple times where I've almost been hit when the traction control kicks in and stalls me out in the middle of the road.

Disable it. One of the best things I did to my 2001.

Until you do the andy mod, try this....

Use your left foot to lightly apply the break when taking off from a full stop. Kind of like letting out a clutch pedal. My 2001 only seems to do this when in AWD and this accidental finding eliminated the issue for me. I still plan to do the mod using the oem trac off switch though. I have all the supplies, just trying to find some time.
