Have you considered the GX470? 80% of them have 3rd row, they are all 4wd and all V8. No to mention, fo some reason they always seem to be cheaper than the 4th gen 4runner.

I just picked up a super nice one from a Lexus dealer that is loaded and one owner for a very good price.

I was thinking about a GX but I would like the choice of keeping it in 2WD until I need the 4WD. My 100 series has the V8, 3rd row, but is AWD.

I got some bad news for you buddy. The V8 4th gens are all AWD. In fact it has the same drivetrain as your cruiser.

Why would you want to downsize after you built up a nice rig? You wouldn't be gaining much.

What this guy said...v8's are awd, you'd need a 6 to get the option of 2wd.
