very good advise but I find dumping the vehicle and having the insurance pay you full KBB for it is the best bet, thats how I got 22k for a vehicle worth 13k

I usually average less than 7K miles a year.

But then again, my work is only 3 miles from my house, so driving back and forth to work is less than 1600 miles per year.

This is one reason why I would never lease.

It's also one reason why I don't really give a crap about gas mileage

What do you mean "dumping"

I was watching the news and they said the #1 state that criminals get rid of cars in is Florida, Florida even has a department or unit that just goes out to all the lakes, ponds, any water holes and sends in scuba divers to look for cars, on average they pull a few hundred cars out in a given year.

It's always Insurance fraud cause people pay others to get rid of the car cause it has now become a burden to make those payments, they traces the vin numbers and then go back to the customer and the police press charges so the jig is up, possible jail time but I think it's more a heavy fine and the Insurance Company wants their money back.

The special I was watching they pulled out many brand new highend cars several M3 and many other BMW along with Range Rovers, and other expensive luxo type cars, in the end the customer who thinks they got off is gonna get surprised when the police show up and the flood damage cars usually get parted out since it is fresh water:
