Trail Blazing Once Again in Colorado...Any Takers?

Bull Park is all but impassable this time of year. Steep with lots of snow.

Mount Baldy would be reasonable until halfway. Slippery and sideways slopes with steep dropoffs.

Schubarth Trail is passable for about 7 miles but gets pretty slick and steep deep in.

Phantom Creek i havent driven but looks doable.

Dakan Road would be my pick for the snowy conditions. Should be passable.

I agree since you have the experience. so Dakan Road, Anyone what to throw their .02 cents and do another?

That is great to here.... This forums is open to opinions, options and ideas for what we can do, where we can meet, what trail to run for weather. (most as inexperienced but willing to have fun)

Areas to think about, Vickers and Montezuma. Does anyone have Ideas on what trails to go for. I hear that Vickers is fun and easy also we can hit cripple creek when we are done for the day. And Montezuma is near keystone and has a lot of trials to paly in.

Im a little lost. Do you mean Montazuma up by 70? If so, seems kind of a hike from the springs, for a winter trip.

Do you mean Victor or Vickers? Im not finding vickers on the map. If you mean victor, Phantom Cannyon and Shelf Rd would be fun, very scenic.

Just to give you a heads up, I wouldn't go to Montezuma. It's a fun area in the summer but winter is a different story. All the trails up there are considered seasonal; Peru Creek has a gate that is closed, Deer Creek & St.John are very popular hiking trails in the winter and they get super pissed if you try to wheel up the trail, and Webster Pass is again a popular hiking trail that has several down trees you can't get past.

Feel free to add suggestions. Not sure what it is like in Winter, but perhaps the rainbow falls area just outside Woodland Park. I go up on Stage Coach and Gold Camp a bunch. Might be some fun up there?

Yeah from what i heard, Dakan is closed after a bit of travel. Also We can ask around about rainbow falls IDK if it is good or not
