Did you have to remove them to get them powder coated or just drop the whole vehicle off? Been debating on just plasti-dipping myself with them on there, but would prefer powder coating if I can avoid removing first.

I did have to remove them first. But let me tell you, it was super easy.
Interesting, thanks. I keep hearing mixed reviews on removing them. A guy at work said he busted some of the nubs on the base cover pieces but he may just not have been careful. I guess I'll have to give it a shot myself and see what happens.

I have a set of 2015 Trail Edition roof rack rails for sale. Very little use before I replaced them with a Baja Roof Rack. The silver rails are eligible for powder coating or spray painting black. No Cross Rails. I knew I was going to replace the rails when I bought the vehicle.
It's easy pulling them off. There's a thread about it somewhere here.

Yes, sure have. Blacking mine out would be a def improvement, but I really like the look of the rails from the 10-13 TEs. The best powder coat guy around my area is backed up for weeks. Will be going that route if I can’t source one of these from the 10-13 models.

Does anyone know where to get the hooped thumb screws that provide a tie down point, in addition to providing the ability to adjust the crossbars front to back? I lost one and am having one hell of a time tracking down the part. Even Toyota Parts of Dallas is stumped...

Cleaned and ceramic coated to restore the plastic. Can't wait to get this on just waiting on bolts. These really should have carried over from the early Trail models. Looks so much better.
