Trail Edition Third Row Seats after market??

I have company coming and was wondering if it's possible to install third row seats in the 2011 Trail Edition?

Not possible without some fabricating. The 2nd row seats on the trail and the 2nd row seats on the limiteds mount and operate differently. Trust me, I ripped out my entire back interior and did the same with a limited.
 
For 3rd row equipped 4runners the 2nd row seats have a special seat that moves forward and flips up to allow 3rd passengers room to slip in. Without a lot of serious mods and welding, your company will have to be content seeing the rear of your 4runner from their rental car ;).

Thanks guys. Gonna go with some bean bags and pillows for the kiddies in back of vehicle. Hell, when I was a kid they'd throw us in the back of a pick up and step on the gas :lmao:
 
This is part of how I ended up with an SR5. My wife would not agree to an SUV without a third row, sometimes you take what you can get LOL
 
On the SR5 do you have to get leather to get the 3rd row, or can you get the 3rd row separately?

Yes, if you want a 3rd row you can only choose from:

sR5:cloth
Limited: leather.

Sr does not offer a leather 3rd row.

Wish it was on the trail- would have defiantly gotten that. It was actually the third row that got my wife and I to even look at the 4runner.. Glad we did!

I also have a 2011 SR5 with 3ed row and leather. That said, I am regreting buying the 4Runner. There is effectively no cargo room, when 3ed row seat is in use. Even when you have one seat up, not even a stroller fits in. It is handy, if you want to use it once in a while, but if you have kids and need to use the third row, get a Minivan.
THis is my 6th SUV and I never once took them off roading. I think I am finally realizing that I should buy what I need and not what is (cool/in).
The ride is uncomfortable, bouncy with a marked nose dive when braking, cargo space is limitted, kids have difficult time getting in and out, there are no vents for heating/air for the third row seat, gas mileage is bad and it really does not have any Utility. A Dodge caravan is a much useful vehicle than a 4runner. Try to fit anything large in the back and you will see the utility of this Sport UTILITY vehicle.

sounds like you went with wants over needs.... I agree the mini has more cargo room but you look like a limp wrist driving one.... that said get a roof rack

I don't know how many kids you have, but it sounds like you should be shopping for a minivan. Good luck! My 2 kids fit fine with a dog and gear to spare.
 
Where are these sr5's with leather and 3rd row?
I searched everywhere for my new truck and could not find it. I did get a 2012, maybe it is new? (other posts say 2011)


Look on the Toyota website- I don't see the option anymore.
 
my parents just bought a new minivan (they are getting old i guess) and my one year old was fascinated by the room inside. she just keep looking around, and didn't fuss like she does in the 4runner. We went to the beach and I sat in the third row with the seat in front of me stowed in the floor. It was pretty awesome to ride in the back and not be seen...

Still I don't think i could buy one.


oh, couldn't someone without a third row and someone with a third row swap out everything from the second row back?
 
I think they are saying the actual steel bottoms of the 4runner are designed differently and there is no simple "swap"

I'll be pulling out the third row on my Limited until 3 or more chilren's arrive on the scene. Just gotta figure out the new flooring.
