What year was the last year that they made all black roof racks for the trail edition....and will they fit a 2015 model?

Plastidip option

It's funny how Toyota does that with the roof rails. I bought a 2004 SR5 and it was all Silver but Black Roof rails. The 2004 Limited Edition however had Silver Roof Rails.
Now the 2015 Black TRD Pro that I currently have is all Black but has silver roof rails. At the car wash and the window tint place they both said the same thing...get black plastidip and then apply the clear gloss plastidip. For less than $10.00 I got both and will put three coats of each on the silver rails. On a garage kept vehicle it should last about 5 years supposedly.
Could be an option worth a look?

Absolutely. Many have done it on here!
I never have used the gloss clear, and the plastidip looked great after 3 years on parts of my FJ.

I took mine off & did them with a flat black rustoelum & hammered black on the caps , took me about an hr . Gone thru car wash other bs they still look good (hate chrome) .

It's not just the color of the older rack that I like....but the shape and design as well. Did the 2010-2013 rack just bolt up to the 2014...where did you get it and for how much...thanks!

Stay patient grasshopper & follow the for sale sticky . They are VERY expensive & can only buy by the piece from parts ! Post your looking to buy but so are many other's . Most guys that do sell are buying gobi or baja so just gotta get lucky .

I have virtually brand new (replaced with a Gobi rack the second day I bought my 2015 TEP), complete roof rack with OEM cargo cross bars. I'll sell you both for $275! Its sitting in my storage unit collecting dust.

Crossbar question

Guys so I added the rails from a 2010 TE to my 2015 SR5 that I got from a guy off Craigslist. The rails are all good. Not figment issues. The problem I've got is that the crossbars are about a 1/4 too long to fit.

Has anyone used both the rails and crossbars on a 2014/15 and if so did you need to trim them to fit?

You have them in the wrong position. I have a 13 Te rack on my 15 w/crossbars no issues

Short in the front I'll assume?

And they should be able to slide in after the rails are mounted correct?
narrow out back. leave the rails loose, slice in the cross bars and then tighten it all down makes it easier ***EDIT *** I see you figured it out

Do the crossbars give higher clearance for the sharfin? Is it high enough for a cargo box without buying aftermarket crossbars?
