Just got back into town from a vacation back home. Showed up to a big box from RCI on my porch! My front bumper should also be back from the powdercoater this week too. Shooting for install this weekend!

Well it looks like the bumper install is going to have to wait at least another week.
Went to pick it up today, I get there and he goes "I was just about to call you, but the guy at the powdercoater hit the bumper with the forklift trying to load it in the truck, so they have to fix it."
:rant:
It's not RPMFab's fault, but it pisses me off, just a careless mistake. He told me that they were going to get right on fixing it. I don't hold much hope that it'll be ready yet today. And next weekend I was planning a camping trip so it probably won't happen then.

What happend to it? Just the powdercoat being messed up or damage to the bumper?

They apparently screwed up the powdercoat on one of the wings of the bumper. Surprisingly enough, I got a call from RPM about an hour ago saying that they fixed it already and I went and picked it up. So we're still on for install tomorrow!

Install went well today! Got both the RPMFab front bumper and the RCI front skid plate installed. I thought that I was going to be able to use 3 of the 5 mounting points up front for the skid plates, but as it turns out 3 of the bolts for the original skid plate were snapped off, so there are only 2 out of 5 holding it on to the front. I guess I'm going to have to drill them out... yay
I was going to raise the 881s up one perch, but as it turns out, I didn't have the right tools to do so and neither did O'Reillys, so I will probably pay the shop I take it to to align it to also move the springs up.

It fit beautifully. All of the holes lined up, and there was no persuasion needed to thread any of the bolts in.

I bit the bullet and ordered a pair of the Toytec/Eibach front coils. I plan on adding a winch down the road, and instead of just delaying the inevitable I'm going to replace them now.

Might do a rear bumper eventually, but it's a long way down the road right now.

I just got home from a little overnight trail/camp run. Me and a buddy did the Backway to Crown King trail, which is one of the more popular trails in Arizona. At 26 miles one way in length, it took us just over 4 hours to complete. The last 45 minutes of the trail it had started to thunderstorm, which added a level of anxiety as the last bit of the trail is driving up a rock-laiden road with steep drop-offs on either side.
Luckily, no issues. We started in the desert and wound up in the pine trees of Crown King, AZ. From there, we caught up with another friend and took Senator Highway from Crown King to Prescott, AZ and camped for the night. No photos of the Senator Highway run because just about the entire trail was run after dark. I did manage to grab a few photos at the entrance to Crown King rock (poser shots!) and of our campsite.

I'm also really happy I ordered the new front springs. The 881s really met their match on the rockiness of Crown King, they are way too soft. Thank god I put the RCI skid on last week, because it came in handy on more than one occasion.

The truck rides and looks so much better with the new front springs. I'm not sure what's going on, but it has a slight pull to the right when braking and when going down the road straight (even though it was aligned the morning after the springs went on). I took a look at the brakes when I put the springs on but nothing looked out of place, it just seems weird that this problem started after I went wheeling last weekend. I'm wondering if either the passenger caliper is sticking ever so slightly or if the brake hose is slightly collapsed.

I might take it back to the alignment shop and see if they didn't tighten something down after setting alignment.

How many of you have first hand experience with the Falken Wildpeak AT3W tire? I am wanting to step up to 285/75s, and those are appealing due to their price, and how they look.
They are heavy however, at 60 lbs a piece that's a lot of rotational mass to add to my truck, especially since I'm stepping from a P rated 32" tire.
The other option I'm considering are the Cooper ST Maxx tires, however those are even heaver at ~64 lbs a piece.

Run them on my 5th gen, albeit stock size (265s). Love them, looks way better in person than in pictures. Not too shabby for what you are paying, great buy.

Another weekend camping trip, this time up just north of Flagstaff. Our camp was at the base of Humphrey's Peak, which is the tallest point in Arizona at 12,635 ft. Did a little exploring around camp with some buddies, and found a couple good lookout spots for killer pictures.
Managed to hit a huge rut in the road on the way out today at ~35mph, and threw my truck wayyyy out of alignment..............two weeks after I had it aligned. :Cry:
And I ordered a set of Falken Wildpeak AT3/W in LT285/75/16, which should be in and on the truck mid-late this upcoming week.
