Man, those are some fantastic pictures of the Toyotas lined up with the sky and clouds in the background. It's good to see that somebody's actually getting out in and having fun over the summer. I think I might actually have next weekend off work. I'm almost not sure what to do with myself. But I have plans to get out and away from the city and go find a river or something cool somewhere.

It was sooooo incredibly nice to get out of Phoenix. I can't stand being cooped up in the city, especially this time of year when it's 100 degrees + every day. Have fun next weekend!
 
Great build. Great pictures.

I remember on my road trip how different the Flagstaff area is compared to Phoenix. Green to desert in a couple hours, it was awesome.

How do you like living in Arizona having moved from the midwest?

It's definitely 180° different than the midwest. I do love the mountains, however I'm not in love with Phoenix. That, coupled with a few other reasons is why I'm moving back to MI at the end of the year.
 
HUGE lesson here for 3rd gen guys. So I stopped by Firestone this evening after work to make an appointment to have the truck re-aligned and the new tires mounted. Just for shits and giggles, I climbed under it today to see if there was something actually broken, and I found this....

USE LOCTITE ON ALL OF YOUR LOWER BALL JOINT MOUNTING BOLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!


I can't stress that enough. I never did when I installed these 5 months ago, and I almost paid the price. Someone was looking out for me, as I drove this thing 2.5 hours home from Flagstaff down some extremely steep mountain passes with drop offs on either side that could have spelled disaster for me if those two remaining bolts decided to let loose on the highway. I ordered 4 new bolts from Camelback, which I'll pick up tomorrow after work (taking my roommate's car to work tomorrow).
 
Yup, both worked their way out.

This makes sense, now I know where the sudden phantom brake pull came from that developed a month ago. They've been loose since my Crown King trip and this weekend they finally returned to mother earth.
 
Crisis averted. Stopped by Camelback Toyota today after work and picked up four new LBJ bolts, and then got some red threadlock, and torqued them all to 59 ft-lb. Managed to get it all fixed in my apartment parking lot without anyone yelling at me for looking like a hillbilly hahaha.

Woe. I am glad you caught that brother. That's plenty scary. It's also a good reminder for everyone to do a good visual inspection of our vehicles, paying special attention to critical components and suspension. I am sure you probably did, but did you check and threadlock the other side?

Didn't want to do that today, so I torqued the other side. But next time I'm able to use my parent's garage I'm going to take the bolts on the other side out and loctite those as well.

Got the new rubber mounted today! Falken Wildpeak A/T3W in LT285/75/16. Had Firestone mount them and touch up my alignment after my LBJ mishap. They told me that #1) My driver's side spindle is bent; the showed it to me and at full droop the UBJ seat does come very close to touching the spring as opposed to the passenger side where there's probably 1"-1.5" of room before it touches. I'm not so sure it's actually bent. I'm leaning more towards the one side sits slightly lower than the other at full droop. #2) "Supposedly" my radiator is leaking, although they never said from where. I haven't looked at it yet, but I'm calling BS on that. I replaced the radiator, both hoses, thermostat and gasket, as well as radiator cap back in March. So I need to do some digging into that I guess.

Here are the only two photos I have for now, they're kind of dark. It's 110 degrees in Phoenix today, and I didn't feel like parking my truck to get the best lighting..

New Wheels!!

FINALLY got my hands on a set of 16x8 Matte Bronze Ray10s. I heard so many stories about how people added them to their cart and before they could check out, they were gone. From the time they were added to paid for was under 30 seconds.

I've wanted a set of those for a loooong time. Super excited to get them on!

Wow, those look great on your rig man. If I was to ever get new wheels, these would be one of my top three choices. I also like their F5 as well as FN's five stars. Any new rubbing? I have 4"of BS and I need to get back in there and do some more hammer time.

No rubbing under normal daily driving. When I get the chance to wheel I'm sure I'll have to do some fender flare trimming. Haven't wheeled since the 285s went on either.
