Does anyone have experience with a trailer hitch mounted hammock system? Seems like a good idea for some applications.

I use one and love it. McLean Metalworks. The owner is a great guy and you won’t regret doing business with him. Very stable and he has accessories now as well (covers, shades).
Pretty legit. And the hatch can open without interference?
Answered my own question by reading the article posted. Yes it can.
If you don't want to or can't occupy the hitch, you can simply attach a carabiner to a sturdy D ring installed to your roof rack then attach the other end to a nearby tree as usual.
I do this more often than not especially when I can't find two trees close enough together or if I'm trying to find the perfect spot.
It's unfortunate that the ones I have seen are based around shorter hammocks. I sleep way better in my 11' hammock than I did in the sub 10' ones like an eno.
I was surprised how much room there was to open the door and get stuff from inside. It came with an anti-wobble piece for the hitch (not sure if this is an add on now) that makes it very stable.
