Trailer hook up

Can anyone tell me if I need to get an adapter to hook up a trailer to a 2004 SR5 4Runner...The trailer has a different set up then the 4Runner......It come with a adapter for the brake lights for under the dash board. But, kind of confused on the whole setup.... Need some help...

If your trailor has the traditioanal 4 prong plug you just need to get an adapter from Toyota. Its like 20 bucks. You can also get it from trdparts4u.com. Thats where I got mine from.

pepboys and autozone also have the adapter. I saw it for like $12.
