Trans bump/clunk plus more

First few times it did it, thought no biggie, felt like slip yoke problem we had on GM's in the 80's wasn't really worried. Only does it when I stop hard/quick.
The other day it did it and after taking off it felt like it skipped 2nd and went to 3rd or 4th. Had normal power on initial take off then lost power because it was in wrong gear felt like then after babying it up to speed felt normal. Did it several blocks back to work where I parked it and drove normal after work.
Is that common? I know the slip yoke is, not worried bout that.

I've noticed that my 07 will do that as well if I am accelerating and just slightly lift on the accelerator. It seems to read that twitch of the pedal and it bumps it up a gear.

Never used to do that.

I'm not sure if its the pedal or a sensor that is dirty or over-reacting.

Op I had the exact same issue as you. Would get the light clunk every now and again. Then randomly I would have transmission slipping. I could reproduce transmission issues by forcing the clunk (speed up to 30, stop quick). After several clunos the trans would rev high in second. If you beat on it some more it will throw a transmission solenoid code.

I took my truck down to ACC Toyota here in Atlanta. They ran diagnostics and cleared two codes that were on the TRANS COMPUTER. The shop will need special computer to hook straight into Transmission. Codes clear and never had a clunk or shifting issues since! Their explanation that is if there are codes in the transmission it will go into limp mode. Unplugging battery for 10 min will not reset these codes. You gotta take it in.

Whoo! Good luck!

My trans is not slipping. It skipped 2nd gear. No CEL, makes me think shift solenoid stuck but would've thought CEL would've came on of it stored a code.
