I'm comparing the OEM tranny filter I just removed to the one that came in the Beck Arnley kit, and I see that the oil pickup (I think that's the pickup?) portion of the OEM filter is a lot deeper than on Beck Arnley. Isn't the shallower Beck Arnley pickup more likely to suck air if the fluid level gets a bit low?

The pan looks pretty clean, no sludge, and screen is pretty clean too, so I wouldn't lose sleep reusing it after cleaning. The cork gaskets are somewhat compressed, but not too bad. I'd probably lose more sleep over the shallower pickup than the internal gaskets.
Thoughts?? No need to tell me "you shoulda bought OEM filter", that's water under the bridge at this point
