Trans Indicator Problem

On my 2000 4x4 I have noticed a problem on the shift indicator located next to the shifter. The little orange indicator does not move correctly after the “neutral” shift location.

When I move the lever from “N” to “D” the orange indicator does not move. However, the gear indicator on the dash does indicate the correct gear.

When I move from “D” to “2”, the shift indictor by the shifter will indicate the trans is in “D”. Again, the indicator on the dash indicates the correct gear.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a known fix? Thanks.

I tried to decipher your question and i gave up. After rereading and nobody giving any advice.

Here is my two cents.

Your counsel must have had a Coke or Pepsi spilled on it and causing it to be sticky thus the issues that you are having. Take it apart and clean it out
