trans linkage knocking

hey all i have a knock on the trans when i put it in gear . i have chased it down to the bracket on the rear of the trans kind of c shape with two pivot points on the rear of the trans not sure what i can do to make it quit knocking ! anyone else had this problem and if so how do i fix it ? any input on this would be great

You need to replace the U joint on the driveshaft according to your description.

Does the the sound occur when you're in gear sitting still? moving? both? any particular speed?

both seems louder when sitting still in gear quieter when moving it is not the ujoint have checked them already
