So I maintain two sets of tires for my 2004 4Runner because I have been driving it a lot the last few years. 50K miles in 2 years bringing it up to 144K total.
So I took my very well maintained 2004 4Runner V8 4x4 in to swap out the summer tires in favor of the winter tires.
They charge me what they charge for that sort of thing and send me on my way. The car held straight on the road but as soon as I got up to 50-60 mph the wheel started to vibrate as if the tires weren't balanced.
This has happened before (after I had a flat once) so I recognized the problem and immediately called the dealer who performed the tire swap and told them of my problem.
I took my car in the next day and the service adviser immediately starts talking to me about ohh it must be my tires... they are worn un-evenly from bad alignment yada yada yada. I didn't really see the made up problem but played along and scheduled an appointment to come back and do an alignment first week in January as I am going out of town.
He then took the car into the back for about 40 minutes and said they ran the car up to 110mph and no vibrations that they swapped the front for the back and this should cure the problem for now.
Well I left the dealership and sure enough no problems but now it is making this strange noise between 0-15 mph kinda like a brake pad sticking or a rock wedged between the pad and the rotors (that annoying whine if you know what I mean). Furthermore I get the car up to speed on the freeway and sure enough I still have vibrations at 50+ mph.
I get to my house and decide to see what the heck is wrong with the rotor. I could find no issues with any rotor and then noticed a fresh liquid dripping from the transfer case area.

Uploaded with ImageShack.usHas anyone ever seen this before or know what this is? Could they have damaged this in the shop when they ran it up to 110mph?
