So I decided to check the trans fluid on my 06 2wd since it seems to be off and on leaking at the tailshaft housing seal. My scanguage was at 98 deg so I pulled the check plug marked check so I know it wasn't the drag plug . Red fluid gushes out so I close it. Heat the trans to 117 deg open the plug not even a drop comes out no trickle or anything. So my question is am I low? The FSM says to open it at 115 to 130 and let it run until it drips out. But I do recall seeing an FSM by black works inc that said 97deg to 115 deg. Opinions appreciated.

Did you cycle slowly through all gears 1-D-N-R a few times and circulate the fluid good? Are you on a level surface? Engine running? If you've done both of those things, and there is nothing coming out at 117 degrees at all then I would put a quart in the trans and start the process all over again.
Well I will admit the 97deg was without the engine running and then I realized that apparently your supposed to have it on. Haha
The second time at 117deg was with engine running. I guess Ill have to get a pump to put the ws in with. Any recommendations? I already have the fluid just not the pump. The tailshaft leak started after the dealer exchanged all the fluid so I was hoping they maybe just overfilled it. Now that I'm in Cali the Toyota dealer here says sometimes its the seal and sometimes it's the extension housing has a crack but he's probably only seen that 20% of the time with the a750e 2wd. Lucky me that's what I have

The WS bottles have an odd sized opening. I poured the fluid into a standard quart bottle so I could use a standard pump. I replaced the provided black tube with a bigger clear one.
Before that I had tried using a fluid transfer pump after pouring the WS fluid into a large container. I like the quart bottle method much better especially if you're only putting one quart in.

Gonna guess the full plug is 24, but check first, not totally sure.

Buy one of the $30 red pumps from True Value, etc. they seem pretty solid.
I bought a cheapie and it broke after 8 pumps...ad the pan was already drained so that sucked...
